Air Speed

  • Availability: In Stock

It happens once a year in early September, on a 50 square mile patch of desert sagebrush, a few miles north of Reno, Nevada. It’s the National Championship Air Races. On this 2 CD set you will hear nearly 3 hours of the breathtaking sounds of air racing, the fastest motor sport on the planet.

Choose either "CD" to get the official CD mailed to you or "DIGITAL DOWNLOAD" if you would like to download the sound files to your computer within minutes after purchase.

The howls of the speedy Formula 1s, the deafening roar of the T-6s and the thunder of the hot-rodded WWII fighters of the Unlimited Class will be ripping up your living room and alienating your neighbors as they pass in front of your nose and out of your speakers. We’ve got racing jets too! This CD set features the “Best Tracks” selected from our previously released CDs “Reno on Record 1, 2 and 3” plus additional tracks from the 2004 races.

Our philosophy is simply to bring the most realistic sound experience available to the listener with current technology. We've been recording digitally since 1983. This eliminates all tape hiss and makes the background nice and quiet. We've taken great pains to develop a microphone recording system that captures the planes realistically. Additionally you'll rarely hear wind noise, background talking or other extraneous noises on our recordings.
